Today testimonial comes from a women that I am so honored to have met near the beginning of our Shaklee Journey, Julie Veenstra. I had no idea of all of the health issues that the #ShakleeEffect has been able to help her with however it has been exciting to see her reach great success over the recent years in her business and with her fast expanding beautiful family! Her is Julie’s Shaklee Story…
As with most people, I did not look into “natural health” until I was almost forced to! I had health issues that started me on a path of learning. As a teenager, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s and told that I was at high risk for colon cancer by the age of 25. Every winter I dealt with bronchitis, and several times had pneumonia and mono. My joints were sore. I had severe acne. Endometriosis. I had migraines and so many symptoms of poor health. I later dealt with infertility, as well. Even though I was not overweight, and we ate quite healthy, I was most certainly NOT lean and healthy!
I began to study nutrition. I researched and experimented with many different approaches to health. While I did find improvement in my health, my immune system was still low. I knew my health could still improve.
In 1997, I was introduced to Shaklee through my mom. Here I found the best and most consistent results with the quality supplements Shaklee offers. They have zero tolerance for contamination, while other companies have a 10% allowable contamination limit! Also, many food supplements are mislabelled – they do not contain what they promise on the label. In my research, I knew Shaklee had higher standards for research, quality controls and product integrity, but I also wanted personal proof. I am symptom free of any health issues that I had struggled with for years! I feel better now than ever before. I am most certainly NOT dealing with infertility anymore! At the age of 41, I have a 16 year old, a 2 year old, a 1 year old, and we are expecting another the end of the year!
Like any happy consumer, I started sharing with others. I never meant to begin a business, but it happened! And now, I LOVE it. I am just one of many people who has to work to pay the bills…..but I really wanted to be doing something meaningful. Something I could feel good about. I wanted to make a difference. Shaklee gives me the opportunity to do good AND live well.
I have been so blessed over the years. When my oldest son was 4 years old, I became a single mom with no financial support. We had debt, and I didn’t think I had any hope for a “thriving” future. However, just a few months before that happened, I earned a Shaklee car! I lived with my parents for a month, but the Shaklee bonus check came in, and I realized we would be okay. My son and I bought a small home in St. Catharines and eventually sold it and upgraded. I finished my university degree. My son went to a private Christian school. Through Shaklee’s reward program, I could take my son to Bahamas and on a cruise. I experienced Mexico several times, Paris, Kenya, Hawaii. We did not have financial support from anyone else, but with my Shaklee business, we lived simple, and GOOD! As a single mom, I truly appreciated the level of health and wealth I could achieve while still caring for my son. Now we appreciate the freedom of time, and the financial stability we have, due to the years of building a Shaklee business.
I share this story with others in the hopes that it will inspire, and create a sense of commitment to get through the tough stuff of building a business, or building your health, so you can experience the great stuff in life!
