I Have 10lbs to Lose, Do You?

Cataloge 2013 my picture croppedIf you have read any of my previous posts on Weight Loss, you would know that I have been very happy that back in 2012 I lost a grand total of over 20lbs and 20 inches on the Shaklee 180 Program by the time I was done.  The most amazing part that I always share is the fact that not only did I take it off but I KEPT IT OFF!  Well that was until recently…

I’m sure you all would agree that sometimes things happen in our lives that can set us up for a bit of a curve ball and get us off track.  Well for me this occurred this
past summer.  I was actually at my absolute best shape my entire adult lifetime going into August.  I began training in the spring for my first ever 5 K run that would take place August 16th at Shaklee Live 2014 in Long Beach, CA.  I felt healthier than I had been in years and loved that I was out enjoying the fresh air and running
giving me some time to myself to ‘just breath’ away from the craziness of my life.  I also was very excited about seeing all myHemant & Shawn Shaklee friends from around the world, most memorable of which was being introduced to Hemant Singh, President of Shaklee India, by my good friend and newly awarded ‘Global Ambassador of the Year’, Shawn Gray.   I left Shaklee Live 2014 on August 18th knowing I was on track to not only a healthy future with my new found love to run but also finally complete my dream to build the Global Masters Team in India as it was expected to launch in the early new year of 2015.

Then it happened…The curve in the road that set me off track!  Not even 1 week later, on August 24th I had a tiny little incident while rock picking for our landscaping project that left the tip of my left index finger crushed into about 5 pieces.  Ya I know, sounds like a pretty pittly little thing right?  I mean come on, it is just the tip of a finger!  Well let Broken Finger 3me tell you, this little finger tip has proved to me just how important every little part of our body is!!!  This little finger tip caused me to not only no longer be able to run, it hurt to even walk!  I had no skip out on the 5K Run For Heart I was registered to run in on October 18th as by then I still could not do anything without my finger swelling like a sausage.  I was very frustrated and annoyed with my injury as honestly I still am today.  Matter a fact, my finger hurts right now just trying to type out this post, more that 4 months after the accident.  So just when I was feeling great health wise, I allowed my finger to let me get lazy and off track with my physical activities that I knew were all so important to a maintaining a healthy weight.

On top of that, my excitement of the opening of Shaklee India also took a rough turn.  I had been spending most of my business working hours focused on preparing my Pre-Launch team in India.  I had been working on this for over 2 years but took it much more serious over the summer and knew I had a few great core people ready to take this thing and run with it in India.  I was thourouly enjoying networking with these new friends and my excitement was building for a hopeful Launch trip to India in March 2015 when more news on the global expansion there came.  You see if there is one thing I am learning about India, it is that their government is very very strict about Networking Marketing companies and they have recently gotten even harder.  I am grateful that Shaklee is a company who will not just push to open a new market, they are willing to do the right things in order to be sure that when they open a new market, they do it following all their same core principles and the philosophy that was started almost 60 years ago by Dr. Shaklee.  They are doing things the right way in order to allow Shaklee to be successful in the India market for generations to come and unfortunately the time frame of all this is out of my control.  So when I heard that Shaklee India was possibly now another year away from the official opening of the market I only added to my stress level.  I know I have some great people in India, however I also know that it is hard to sit and wait for something.  Everyone wants to know when we will open there and I now do not want to say any dates as I have been victim myself to many lies and false intentions over the past 10 years and I did not appreciate the way I was treated previously in my business and the lesson I learned from my own experience was that I never will treat a person in my business in that way.  So I have spent the past 2 months trying to figure out how to let the people in India know that Shaklee IS COMING, and teach them how amazing this opportunity is for them yet I have so many unknown details still at this time.  I hold people’s feelings a little to close to my heart often and so knowing I have created some great excitement in India, I do not want to hurt anyone and have found myself spending many days in tears just trying to figure out the best direction to take this all in.

I’m sharing all this simply to help you see how our weight and our health can be completely ON TRACK and then a couple tiny little things can occur in our lives that just set us a stray for a while.  For me, I have allowed these two events, which really when I type them seem minuscule, yet in my world they have been GINORMOUS!  I allowed myself to slip into what I would admit to be a slight world of depression, making daily poor food choices, daily unneeded afternoon naps, and just becoming detached from the world which we all know can lead to weight gain.  For me, to this point it has lead me to a gain of 9lbs, all of which I can tell you exactly where is at by a simple slip on of my jeans or a peak in the mirror!  No…9 lbs is may not seem like a lot to many people but when you have seen the difference 9 lbs not only makes you feel but how it changes you body appearance, your emotions, your entire personality and zest for life it is A LOT!!

Shaklee made an announcement a few weeks ago to start 2015 off in a special way and do something no other company has tried before (which makes it perfect for the Shaklee Family).  They  want to be the first company on record to be recognized for losing 40,000 pounds.  How are they going to do that?  By doing what we do best: inviting friends, family and communities to get on the path to better health by joining them in losing a combined 40,000 pounds between January 1 and March 31, 2015. And they’ll reward us all for it!  Watch this video to learn a bit more about this Challenge.

I have decided that I will do my part to help ‘Set the Record with Shaklee 180’.  So as of today, December 29th, 2014 I Declare “I’m in for 10” – that is, losing 10 pounds.  Losing even a little bit can help your clothes fit better and your body feel healthier and I know these are both things I need.  So why don’t you join me and start 2015 right – commit to 10? Join my team and I and lets work together to each take off 10!  I know it is possible with Shaklee 180 and I know how great it feels to be that 10 lbs smaller, but I also know it is a lot easier to stay on track if you work together and hold one another accountable!  So who is with me?  If you want to join me, simply visit my post ‘Set The Record With Shaklee 180′ or contact me directly.  BUT DON’T HESITATE, you only have until January 10th to be a part of this and to get in on the special offers available to those taking part in the Challenge to Set The Record!

Cheers to you in your weight loss endeavors for 2015 and watch for my weekly (I hope anyways) updates of my progress right here on my blog!
